How Can, “The System Worked” Be Taken Out Of Context?

A guy gets on an airplane, lights his underwear on fire in an attempt to detonate a device and subsequently blow up the plane, is then subdued by passengers and arrested in Detroit once the plane lands safely to which Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the system worked. Umm…excuse me? What system worked how?

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab purchased a one-way ticket from Lagos, Nigeria to Detroit, Michigan via Amsterdam and he paid in cash. Was he flagged? Did anyone investigate? Nope! I’m not sure about you but I call that a system fail.

Abdulmutallab’s own father had reported concerns to the U.S. Embassy over his son’s extreme religious views and asked for assistance in finding him and bringing him home. By the time he was located he was trying to blow up an airplane in the skies over Michigan. System fail!

He was able to board an aircraft bound towards America with explosive chemicals tucked away in his pants. System fail!

Abdulmutallab was placed in a database for people who had known ties to terrorists and terrorism. He had been denied entry into Britain but was able to be granted a United States visa and was on a flight bound to the U.S. without anyone so much as giving him a second look Again, system fail!

So you can see why many Americans raised an eyebrow and said, Huh?” when she announced to the world Sunday morning that, “The important thing to note is that the system worked.” Exactly what worked? If that system is allowing terrorists aboard airplanes, hoping the explosive device malfunctions and then counting on the passengers to take the terrorists down then, yes, the system worked splendidly. I just hope that isn’t the plan we are inversing billions of tax payer dollars in.

Of course on Monday Napolitano changed her tone and said that the system had failed. She also stated that he comment on Monday had been taken out of context. How exactly does that happen? How do you say one thing and then twenty-four hours later to a 180 and say that your previous comment was taken out of context? Were we to interpret the previous statement as a statement of failure because I’m pretty sure that when you say something is working then you are trying to express to your intended audience that its…working. The idea that taking a government official’s word for what it is would actually be taking the statement out of context is beyond me. Has the Obama Administration actually reached the point where they put the blame the American people for believing something they say? It looks like it!

The spin doctors we have in Washington are out of control. Janet Napolitano said that the part of the system that worked was the implementation of new policies and procedures immediately following the incident. Now for the final hour of your flight you’re not allowed to go to the restroom nor have anything (blanket, book, laptop anything) in your lap. The pilot is no longer allowed to point out landmarks while flying over and while not being able to go to the restroom for that final hour you must sit still with your hands on your knees. Our government declares this a success and a victory. HOW ABOUT ACTUALLY STOPPING THE TERRORISTS FROM GETTING ON THE PLANES!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO STOP THE BAD GUYS FROM GETTING ON A PLANE?

Screening grandmas, small children, yuppies and the businessman on his way home while letting the Middle Eastern man pass right on by because you’re afraid of political incorrectness just isn’t working. How many grandmas, small children, yuppies and businessmen have tried to hijack or blow up a plane? None! Hmmm, if we just had something to go by, something that all the terrorists had in common. What could it be? Oh yeah, they were all Middle Eastern males with radical ties to Islam but they can’t screen for that because it would be “profiling” which is just unacceptable. Do you realize how incompetent this makes us look? Meanwhile, get your grandma to the airport four hours early so they can take her walker apart and enjoy riding with your hands on your knees.

Obama Makes Vacation Sacrifice For You

President Obama hasn’t had the chance to get around to stopping those moguls who are making billions by preying on innocent vacationers and actually charging them money to stay at hotels and resorts across the 50 United States. Instead he’s contributing to the madness by taking his family on a Christmas vacation to Hawaii that has the family staying at a $4,000 per night condo which makes me wonder when he’s going to pony up and start redistributing his wealth instead of going after other people’s money. Of course he’s the president so much like the health care reform his policies aimed at taking money from working individuals and giving it to the less fortunate (you know those who are burdened by not wanting a job and choosing instead to live on government cheese) don’t apply to him. America, you’d better not flaunt wealth and spend money that others don’t have as long as there are bums standing on the street looking for handouts. That is unless you’re the president.

Anyway, I digress; President Obama is sacrificing his luxurious stay in Hawaii for you, the American people. He won’t rest, won’t be distracted and certainly won’t take a lavish vacation until his unconstitutional health bill is jammed down the throats of the American people. With only 26% of voters approving of President Obama’s role as America’s Commander and Chief he’s determined to give us his agenda whether we want it or not. So much for a government for the people by the people it’s more like a government against the people for fat cat politicians. How else do you explain the billions of dollars in payoffs to buy votes? Oh yeah, its there. Obama promised us change that we can believe in. The only thing that’s changed is that bribes and payoffs are pretty much at full disclosure to the American people and the only thing that we can believe in is that this government will continue to turn its back to the American people by taking the attitude that we don’t really know what’s good for us but they do.

That’s why you and I will be paying higher taxes in the coming years so that the couple shacking up down the street from you can have medical insurance on that eighth child born out of wedlock while they use their government checks to buy cigarettes and beer. They are desperate for insurance, they need insurance, if they could ask Santa for just one thing this Christmas it would be for medical insurance and if they don’t purchase said insurance then they’ll be fined by the government that’s really just looking out for their best interest and giving them what they want. That’s also why you and I will be paying higher taxes in the coming years so that the millions of illegal aliens in our country can become legalized and be covered under this health bill.

That’s why with only 9% of adults feeling that the economy is good right now congress is passing a bill that will not only raise your taxes but will also cost you to pay more for medical services and coverage.

That’s why you could be losing your insurance benefits from your employer and face either paying for a higher premium out of your own pocket or face the government fines. As it is now it cost an employer around $10,000 per year to provide medical benefits for a single employee. However, under the new bill an employer can cancel your coverage and only pay a fine of less than $800. Meanwhile you’re stuck with a much lighter wallet due to paying your own premiums or the government fine for not having insurance. That’s what I wanted, isn’t that what you wanted? Obama says that it is!

President Obama said that this bill would be hashed out in full view of the American people (CNN I think he said) instead it was decided behind closed doors by a small minority of people with even smaller minds. It’s a bill that most democratic senators haven’t read, won’t read and don’t want to read. It’s a bill that no one fully understands and yet will pass by a landslide. Does that sound like a congress that is looking out for the best interest of the American people?

President Obama said that the days of paying off politicians and loading bills with kickbacks and payoffs to friends and supporters in fulfillment of campaign promises. Well, he said that those days we over after his stimulus bill that included all the above. Apparently he was misled, surely he wouldn’t lie to us, because this health bill is only passing because of payoffs. Look for Nebraska to become the new retirement destination for Americans. Under a provision in the bill, the federal government will permanently pick up Nebraska's entire cost for an expansion of Medicaid, while paying the full tab for the other 49 states for only three years. Why? That was the cost of purchasing the 60th vote needed from Nebraska senator Ben Nelson to pass the bill. Unless you’re a Husker it looks like your senators sold your state short.

President Obama won’t vacation until he gets what he wants and apparently nothing stands in the way of him getting what he wants. Not the economy, not the American people, not public opinion and not even a trip to Hawaii. Makes you feel better though, knowing that he’s doing it all for you, right?

Remind Me...Who's using Nazi Tactics?

Just when you think you have seen it all, it gets worse. In an unprecedented move...well, cowardly at least - the Democrats and ONE LOUSY REPUBLICAN (R-Joe Cao, Louisiana) pass the HC bill in the House! I am not racist, in fact, had a wonderful day with one awesome black kiddo - along with 7 other kids from our church. He and another boy were the only boys, so we had a blast wrestling and splashing at the indoor pool. I have worked with minorities, I have compassion on the less fortunate and support them via our church and personally.

It is not about racism Calvin. But this HC plan is a train wreck on our society - it is simply a caution-less agenda to bring America to its knees. The fact is, a minority person is financing the liberal machine making it happen - Soros. And soldiers die every day so he and other like him have the freedom to do so.

"Today with help from their liberal House allies, President Obama and Nancy Pelosi finally got what they have been creating behind closed doors these past months -- a government-run health care experiment that will increase families' health care costs, increase the deficit, increase taxes on small businesses and the middle class, and cut Medicare," the statement said.

So Nazi tactics - or at the very least, stealth/iron fist tactics were used to strong arm the decision and take the American opinion out of the system. It will be Nazi tactics that force me and every other hard working American to give up the greatest health care on the planet for a government run mess! Seriously: WIC, Post-office (I know- don't go there), DHS, S.S.N, Medicare, and the like - none of them are successful! What makes anyone believe HC will succeed through the government is beyond me! We truly have let the Television suck our mental capabilities down the tubes...no pun intended!

Aside from my faith and its immovability, this revelation ruined my day. And yes, a Christian can use the word "lousy." Jesus used a whip and was spittin' mad for what the traders did to the Temple. Godly anger and frustration is warranted. Control and channelling that anger is what differentiates Christians from Wackos of any name.

The word Democrat has essentially morphed into a "four-letter" word these days. I hate it too, as I know that there are many Democrats that are not followers of Pelosi, Reed and Obama. In fact, the 39 dems that voted against it ... need a ticker-tape parade! Obama and cronies, these are the extreme wacko left! My father-n-law and many at my church are democrats - but they cannot believe how quickly their party is destroying this once great nation.

Tomorrow is a new day. God says His mercies are new every morning. I believe this and I believe it can be true for America. They are hell-bent (!) on getting this done. Sad thing - this is not the worst of it....The Climate Treaty is going to be worse!

Who is this Lord? Obvisously, a play on words - but wisdom does come from The Lord. Anyway, google him and you will find out that he has been active in gov for a while. If you search transcript of a speech give in March of this year. I have read this and am amazed at the common sense backed by science and hard facts. As pointed out by my esteemed co-author of this blog, Gore cannot defend his very writings!

I have not written much in the last months. Why? As I have said, things have moved so quickly that I type and it is old news. I was aghast today when I heard this! But have you seen it on the local or nightly news? We have got to call our local affiliate news rooms and bug them until they start to report news. When I call, they say they get their feeds from the National Office. Then why are they working? Why the local reporters? They have got to change national - if we call, call and call more, they will have to begin reporting what we want.

Global Warming Is A Fraud And Al Gore Can’t Defend It

So when asked about nine critical errors in is politically motivated film former Vice President Al Gore responds with, “Well, don’t you think that polar bears are endangered?” When pushed on the matter and even informed that the polar population is increasing Gore had nothing else in the arsenal.

With no ground to stand on and unable to defend his position Al Gore did what Al Gore does best and straight out lied. The court ruling that is being discussed here was NOT in favor of Gore’s film. It stated that the film could be shown in schools as long as a disclaimer was provided saying that there were nine critical errors in the film. How in the world is that in Gore’s favor, oh the Spin Doctor likes to spin it!

Bottom line is that this farce is being snuffed out all over the world and everyone, including Gore, knows it. The company line though seems to be when called on it refuse to answer the question directly and spin a lie and if that isn’t good enough the just silence the objector by telling him to quit talking and shutting off his microphone. Nice job!

RACE CARD PLAYED AGAINST LIMBAUGH RAMS PURCHASE

I just learned that "two powerful" men, Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson, are trying to persuade the NFL to barr Limbaugh and his partners from purchasing the ST. Louis Rams. Can you seriously believe this? Dolphinfan is more geared to write about this, but I could not avoid it...

It is my point to respectfully .... well, for lack of a better word ... disagree with them. I believe that racism exists because of individuals just like (and SPECIFICALLY like) Sharpton and Jackson. Without race issues they are without a platform.

Take this very instance of the Rams purchase: would they have anything to say or any grounds to speak if it were not for race? Further, would they have grounds to speak at any other time? If not for race these men and those like them would have nothing to promote. Let's just think about this - look at Detroit, think back to the demise of the first run with Health Care Bill, Obama's election, several of his Czars - race was tossed around as an attack on the Republican opposition efforts. The Tea Partiers are racist - or worse, Pelosi thinks they are Nazi's!

Race is being tossed around like a political football for everything - as if we have gone back in time! We may not have segregated fountains and busses, but the tension being stirred up from Sharpton, Obama, Pelosi, ACORN and others is making Main Street life increasingly difficult.

It is true that Rush has made comments that reflect his opinions on affirmative action and it's relation to sports and every day happenings, but truth often hurts. It is my "hope" that the NFL does not further their cause of racism by cow-tailing to the PC arguements. I sincerely hope they will stand against this attack and even promote the investors that Limbaugh is working with.

CASH FOR CLUNKERS - GOES BUST!

Well, ok...so the program did not go bust, but the dealerships are!

Here is the deal: Government comes up with this "great idea" - let's have people turn in their 'old' cars and get new ones. Bailout for the 'commoners.' To get them to do so, let's pay them to do it!

Problem: The Government is not in business and does not know how to run business!

Result: Leading story tonight on the local news: David Stanley is having to continue offering "clunker" like incentives to keep buyers coming in and buying cars, as the Goverment has not come through on their 'promise' to pay for the Clunkers they bought!

Question: What makes us think this 1100pg + Health Care Program is going to be better? What makes us believe that they will succeed in a program no other country has successfully delivered?

Obama is not working for America - we knew this would happen. Worse still, there are those in the shadow government (some of this link is reasonable, some ?) that are even worse and need removal with Obama. The bailout is worse than ever, the dollar is caving, gold is way up, our President is a laugh (awarded peace prize on the same day we try to blow up the moon!) and has talked America down as a coward!

Challenge: Call your representatives and Senators - the grass roots movement to get the likes of Pelosi, Obama and their minions out of office must be louder and louder! 2010 must be a defining year for America! 2010 can be the date Obama and the liberal democrats become lame ducks! Find your local hero like James Lankford in OK and support them at least as much as you will football!

We can choose to 'abort' and end a life...but there are those that want
to strip our choice of vaccination or not. I am still undecided and
have never received the 'normal' flu shot. How much is hype? How
much is real? Who do you believe? Trust?

Consider the conspiracy: what if Marshall Law is inacted for this? Or
because of those 'evil, racist right wingers?' Hopefully, our
Constition and judges, whose purpose in life is to protect it, will
stand against the forces attacking them!

Dialogue for Negotiations

Folks, essentially...we are screwed. I spoke with a converted,
former, (redundant on purpose) Muslim today. He has been in America
since the late 70s. He said "America has given him the opportunity
for everything!" But he said that over the years he has watched the
"greed for power" dimenish the greatness of America. He said that
Carter really botched things, Reagan reset the course of America,
Clinton robbed from the Republican years, and the Bushes were half
ways. However, "Bush was a great president - the Democrats just
blamed everthing on him."

Obviously, he is no more an authority (really) than I am, but he has
also seen and lived under less than favorable tyrannical conditions.
So, in a sense, he is an expert.

Hearing his discussion was like hearing the echos of my mind when I
have no one to discuss politics with ... Or like hearing conservative
talk radio in Arabic accented English! He has it. Why doesn't the
majority of our governmental officials?

Obama is about words. Without his prized telepropter, he is
clueless. Words incite distrust, ambiguity, and ultimately could
materialize in violence. We do not live in Utopia. Period. There is
nothing heavenly about this Earth...even The Church can't agree on
carpet color! The Moment of Salvation - well, that really is as close
as we get - but that's another subject.

Words will not satisfy. Further, mispoken words ruin. That, my
Friends, is where we are right now. Barak Hussein Obama has degraded
the USA to the point of laughter In other countries (don't believe it,
google it - Chavez, Putnin(?)). At the G2 summit, Foreign leaders
pressed the envelope because Obama has given away The Farm.

Recently, we have had terrorist threat after threat thrawted. I
forget the count, but more than several. You probably haven't heard
about them on the state run media though. This is fearful. What
about Obamanism playing a role in whether or not 40000 more troops go
to afganistan? Iran just tested a missile that reached the distance
if Isreal. !! And ... Obama wants "serious dialogue"!?!

While I have been disappointed in the way we have been portayed; I am
now ashamed and scared at how we are being perceived.

We are passed the point of partisan politics. We are now at the
pivotal point of "no" return. I hope that is too strong, thus the
quotes(""). This is about America, People! America needs real leaders
that are not tied to big money, blemished by blackmail and are willing
to take heat for convictions and good ole American fortitude! We must
support the new grassroots candidates along with those *truly*
standing for America currently in congress.

Joe Wilson Rebuke Shows Dems Are Out For Blood

The high school mentality of our nation’s congress took another step backwards on Tuesday and this time has landed them on an elementary level. Like most high school kids our congress has shown that they have no concept of debt nor do they realize the dangers of piling on to that debt. This administration isn’t just adding to the debt they’re spending our tax dollars like a kid at the county fair. Also like most teenagers this congress has shown that they don’t care what others think. It is incomprehensible to them that the majority of the public are opposed to healthcare reform and are scoffing at public opinion because they are forcing their own version of “hope and change” down our throats. This administration and congress are only focused on their agenda and with the masks coming off the gloves are coming out.

Remember in elementary school when a classmate would shoot spit wads at the other kids but then fly off the handle and tell the teacher when someone has the audacity to shoot one back while acting as if he’d never committed such a dastardly deed. That’s the same type of mentality that our congress has chosen to take with Joe Wilson.

I’m in no way condoning Wilson’s actions. His outburst at the President was distasteful and disrespectful and Mr. Obama rightfully deserved the apology that he received from Congressman Wilson but that should have been it. To have the house pass a resolution to rebuke Joe Wilson was an unnecessary and childish step but it was an act in which the Democrats were allowed to flex their muscle and publicly scold someone who opposes their agenda.

"This is a teachable moment," said Democratic Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina. "This is a time for us to teach not just by precept but by example. There are certain things that you do, and certain things that you don't do. When you do the things you shouldn't, the accepted form of contrition is to come to this floor and to request the apology of these members. Until that is done, proper contrition has not been made. My father used to say the first sign of a good education is good manners. I took that to heart, and I would hope that this body would demonstrate today to all of the school children watching, what is proper decorum."

Really, Mr. Clyburn? A teachable moment? Where was proper decorum in `05 and `07 when many of these same democratic congressmen booed President Bush as he addressed congress? Where were the demands for apologies then? What lesson did our democrats teach the school children at those times? Of course we don’t want to bring that up and apply it to this situation because then we’d see the hypocrisy of it.

The lesson learned here is plain and simple. It’s alright for politicians to participate in name calling just as long as its members of the Democratic Party calling their opponents names. I just learned this week myself that I’m a racist because I oppose many of the President’s political viewpoints. We’ve also learned that its perfectly acceptable for members of congress to heckle the President just as long as it’s the democrats heckling a republican president. What’s the next lesson you’ve got for the school children, how to balance a checkbook?

...yet, I am disillusioned. I would begin to write and then something more amazing would be going on. I would sit to contemplate and be dumb-founded. All this time and I still cannot believe the turn we have taken as a Nation.

Where is the America I grew up in? Truthfully, I would rather still be living under the cold war then being amazed at the speed in which America is dying. I remember thinking that Clinton was simply inconceivable. Now, here we are scurrying around dousing little fires in order to avoid the big explosion.

Obama is surrounded by literal freaks - as if educated people did not know this before election! Just google Obama Czars (or just read this) or Timothy Geithner, Pelosi, Van Jones, Green Czar and see what comes up! Here is a link to were Jones speaks in a derogative way about republicans. At the Rodney King riots - he was a rioter. He is since a self-proclaimed communist. The list goes on...

Healthcare for all? Who will pay? Where will the money come from? What about health limitations and decisions - who makes those? What incentive will there be to be a doctor, nurse, etc? How can abortions be paid by the government? Is that Constitutional? What about the first sentence of the Constitution? Does healthcare fit in to that? Is anyone listening to these town halls or are we just "dumb right wingers?" Crazy, cause it is we "dumb right wingers" that get off our toosh, work, pay taxes and give to charity that feeds the perfect left wingers that mooch off the government! Jeez, my blood pressure....

Ted Kennedy died. While any family loosing a family member is sad, and my condolences go out...I can't help but wonder if Kopechne's family got so much with her lost life. This may not be bad and if Obama uses the medium to bolster good study habits, excellence and the like; he could impact the minds of impressionable children. However, if environmentalism, health care debate and negative assertions about America are the focus, we are in trouble. Is this not what Hitler did?

FASCISM ...

There are avenues of social programs acceptable to government involvement. When the Framers of this Great Country knit the threads of the Constitution together, I believe military & security, voting, anti-taxation w/o representation, political leadership (though not to the extend of "lifers" today), and courts/punishment were the main avenues of Government that they had in mind. It stopped there - in no way would the Framers have considered owning 70/75% of any business!

As for taxes, the Constitution supports much less taxing than we are currently burdened with!Government should be out of this mess!

Over the last two decades there has been a huge under-current that has quietly eroded the beach of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Socialism has crept in...and is failing. Yet the media and left minded individuals somehow still think that nationwide health care and extended services is what we need. We cannot support them - common sense and the magnitude of Baby Boomers turning 60 each day proves that social programs are already over-burdened. Who will pay for the promises....my kids and I will. Get ready for huge taxes!

While I 'gradeated' from public schools, I would say private run schools would do much better! Just because public services are there does not mean they are right. Further, SS is a farce...government has raped and pillaged to the point it won't be there for us ... Point here is: socialism does not work on all levels. Christ teaches charity and on that level it works. But for a government to force it - nope. That is evident in history and currently in other nations.

As for fascism - simply a word to note the possibility of a direction we are heading. With the corporate take overs, GE's silent and deadly push for more government control of everything (light bulbs, environment, combustion, etc), it is evident that we are considering the pursuit of Fascism. Fascism is a technically undefined and debatable - however, Mussolini 'popularized' the idea and until recently, it was considered ludicrous to mention it and even was used as a derogatory remark. Wiki it!

Further, the idea of a 'corporate state' where only the strongest survive...is that not what we are looking at with GM and GE? ....And, what do you think of Chavez telling Fidel Castro to watch out or [they] may become "right of Obama!"

HOORAY FOR CALIFORNIA VOTERS!

One has to admit it - CA voters stuck it to the Obominator (Schwartzenegger) ...again! Remember Prop 8? While he was lovey-dovey with the President in DC, CA voters pushed back! The Schwartz has to wonder what he is doing - I'd also think that he cannot avoid the "DEAD END" sign that is in front of him. "Republican" or not, he's tainted goods... Anyway, here's what they voted on:

California is a liberal state. We all know that and need no dissertation on the facts that support this...California is "dark blue," to quote Hannity. However, I perceive a hint of red blood, new red blood entering the state. Why? Cause even liberals love their money and enjoy keeping most of it to themselves. The dilema they live is in is "how do they get your money and give it to others while keeping theirs? So, with several propositions on the public chopping block yesterday, CA voters said, with resounding unaminity, "NO MORE TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!"

Here is the deal: California is a trend setter. Anything that happens often originates there. For instance, the CAFE standards - which make absolutely no sense in the economic state we are in....but I digress. Back on subject: so, to see such a massive vote against these propositions with the flood of money pushing them sheds a large amount of hope to the rest of the Nation.

California is a welfare state with fat pig politicians handing candy out laced with poison hoping that their constituants will be to wasted to revolt. They take and take and take, but nothing to show for it. Prop 1F shows what voters thought about giving these irresponsible politicians raises! Overwhelming "NO!" Maybe California is a foreshadowing; a writing on the wall you might say...for those on Obama's coat tails.

Tomorrow, our "historic" President, with a historic play set on the White House lawn, and a historic speech at Notre Dame'...is going to announce historic new CAFE standards for cars produced or sold in US. They will have to go 35MPG by 2020.

Let's just use common sense on this one. American families average four members (actually 4.33). Can you really see them fitting? You can? Ok. Imagine vacation. Car-top carrier? Seriously - it would be nearly as big as the car! My kids take their PSP, DS, dolls, legos and anything else worth entertaining them on trips - ain't no-way-no. And, we have not even begun to consider the camera, video camera, their bag(s), my laptop bag and my wife's creative memory bag or other craft. Further, more than half our trips are for dance or baseball competitions or tournaments - thus, we have gear and leotards. Then, there are camping trips, Branson Trips, Road Trips and the like. Each of these bring their own requirements from tents to guns and frisbees to floaties...oh, wait, they only hold two...

Are we getting the picture?

Physics says that the larger vehicle is going to survive the accident...Look at the pix above again - do the people CRAMMED in the back have a chance on rear impact - which is most common? In a T-bone impact, will your significant other survive the whiplash - much less the jabbing pain of the door cutting them in half? Even if all cars and transport vehicles on the road (ie. GIANT Diesel Trucks) were the same size as this smart car...they would still not withstand impacts - just watch a Honda on Honda impact.

SERIOUSLY! This isn't smart: not in a business world, not in a common sense world, not with safety, not with our manufacturers - no matter the koolaid spin that is in the love affair media this afternoon. Will the left and their leadership stop at nothing to destroy us? Is America that bad? What other country is concerned about their carbon footprint? For that matter, who started that phrase? IMF GOING BANKRUPT

You see, there is just too much going on.... Seriously, it is mind-boggling what this world is coming to. Essentially, we're screwed. But to expound, there are a growing number of countries in debt and amounts of debt are compiling. Loans are coming due and nothing to pay them back. IMF is already soft shelling the potential need to seek help from the West. Excuse me, but aren't we in debt too? How could we be of help? Oh, yeah...we already print play money.

When will leaders gain a back bone and just say: "Hey, buckle up folks, we are in for a rough ride. Sorry, we can't just print more Monopoly money, gold is not backing us up and well, business is not our forte." You get the pic - we need real leadership.

But we won't do that. We will keep printing, borrowing and bailing out. We will continue to pass out entitlements....even in the face of the SS and Medicare Trust funds being depleted by 2012 and 20? (SS). This is down from 2008 estimates of 2018 and 2032! Instead, we march on down the road to full government control and only the mammoth General Electric, GE, types will survive. And, they want it that way - they want the government control - the small guys will not make it. Taxes, inflation, regulations and such will be too much for them. Unions too seek this - why do you think they are in bed with the government for the buyouts; why card check. WHY?

Ask yourself WHY? You will begin to wonder and wonder is the source of self education. Your mind will explode at what is not being promoted on TV!

ENVIRO-WACKOS RUIN CROPS
Just watched the news and crops in the valley are failing both due to crops and ... a tiny minnow. Obviously, California needs rain, but the pumps have irrefutably been halted by mandate from DC due to a little minnow on the "extinction list." The minnow gets caught in the pumps and dies. Ahhhh. What about the farmer? What about the oranges, grapes and many other crops in the valley that depend on the water pumped from the delta?

Seriously, the tree huggers need to be stopped. At some point common sense has to prevail.

Let me ask a question no one ever asks: at what point in time does the American Baby become important to the Enviro-wackos? In a few short years, relatively speaking, the American Baby may be on the extinction list. I am sad to read in USA Today that A-Rod and Ramirez are on the drug list. Our kids look up to these guys. While I don't call for government involvement, I believe the baseball commission should take a tougher stand. Otherwise, double speak will rule and youngsters will not learn that drugs (even enhancement types) are bad. Who will stick their necks out there and do more than a hand slap?

With unemployment surging, one has to ask when we will all take up the card board sign I literally saw the other day with my kids: "Why lie, need money for cigs and beer!" USA Today reports that we may face years of sluggish growth. That doesn't sound good. What do we get...swine flu.

HUSSEIN OBAMA DISSES FAITH

Whether you like him, dislike him or love him - you must admit that when Obama stopped a "tradition" that has been going on for over 20 years, even in the Clinton years. His actions spoke louder than any words, pauses or "uh, ums" could. Obama missed the prayer breakfast in DC. It was not invited to the White House as in many years past.

"So what?!" you say. While history is being rewritten and students today are being lied to or taught through omission, our country began because of religious persecution. Good, bad or ugly, America's roots are in Christian faith - of many protestant and Catholic denominations. No, we did not always operate in a faith minded way, but we must recognize we are not perfect. So, let's keep this on track. You cannot deny faith in America.

"Separation!" you yell. Reference other articles on this. It is a farce and lie. Government is to operate in concert with faith. The "wall of separation" was taken out of context. Today, we are so far from the intent of the Founders that we can barely practice Christian faith, while Islamic faith is rampant and may ruin this Country without guns or swords.

"What's the big deal?" Hmm. Seriously? Are you so asleep? The real question is Why is this such a big deal? It is because Hussein Obama is showing true colors. There was such a huge deal made of his church choice for Easter - and yet he has not chosen a Church yet. In the first 100 days he bowed to foreign leaders, degraded our country, offered apologies and otherwise offered the USA as a low life to everyone. Makes one wonder more about his ties to his former Pastor Wright...

That is the big deal. This is icing on the cake. He is showing us all that he truly is not for America as we once knew it and many of us do not want to let go of. He is for dictatorial government, serious socialism (more than what has oozed in over the years) and no longer wants to lead the civilized word in civil responsibility and liberty.

Would I rather his lie? No. But he does daily, so why not now?

Occasionally I get an email from a church member or reader of the site asking a question about the Bible, the church or religion in general as it relates to today’s society. I thought that I’d share some of these, along with my responses, for the sake of discussions and hopefully encouragement.

I have been reading through Matthew and in Mt. 24:35 Jesus speaks, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." I think I understand about what is communicating in that, ..."but my words will never pass away", but both heaven and earth will? What does this mean? If you could enlighten me, I would be most appreciative.

In this text (Matthew 24:26-35) Jesus is talking specifically about his return and the concept of eternity. To the people of the time the world and the sun, moon and stars (heaven) were concrete. They had always been there and there was no concept of time in the sense of eternal thinking.

Jesus was making the point that at some period of your existence (before you step into eternity) you are going to have to put your trust in things other than what is temporal, and look at the things that are eternal. At the point of judgment (be it at the time of your passing or at upon the return of Christ) there is nothing in nature or science that will have the power to save you. Only belief in Jesus Christ as Savior and the trust that we have in his teachings will gain us entry into the eternal Kingdom of God. It is the only thing that truly will last forever.

Apparently to win the Miss America pageant these days you have to support gay marriage. Well at least that’s some would have you believe as the concept of open mindedness has become grossly twisted. You would think (and some would really love for you to believe) that to be an open minded person you have to be in favor of homosexuality as a common practice in our society. If people don’t share your “open minded” support for homosexuality then they should be criticized, outcast and robbed of opportunity. Doesn’t sound very open minded at all to me and if that’s the understanding society is looking for then count me out.

Never have we seen a stronger example of this mentality nor a bigger display of ignorance than what we saw Sunday night at the Miss America pageant. Miss California, Carrie Prejean, was asked by celebrity judge Mario Lavenderia AKA Perez Hilton her opinion on same sex marriage. To her credit, Prejean spoke her honest opinion based on her personal morals and convictions when she just as easily could have been phony by giving the company line and most likely would have been crowned Miss America.

Lavenderia responded the next day with an immature and ignorant rant the next day slamming Prejean and calling her derogatory names. He went on to say in a video post on his blog that she didn’t lose because of her answer to his question but that she lost because she was a, “stupid b&*#h!” Really? People like this are judging the most prestigious beauty pageant in America? Is there any doubt that Prejean was scored by a judge who was clearly biased against her? This is a young woman who was asked her opinion, gave her answer and then was persecuted for it right before our very eyes. The most disturbing thing to come from this wasn’t Prejean’s actions but rather Lavenderia’s support of this sickening mindset that everyone has to agree with your lifestyle and think the way that you think or they should be treated like trash.

Political correctness has now reached a new low. It is no longer acceptable to respectfully speak your opinions and convections if they are based on the principles found in the Bible while those who oppose a strong moral stance are free to spew hate and vengeance in their opposition and feel that they are in the right. The church is viewed as an enemy to society because its views on Godliness and righteousness are opposite to the societal teachings of morality. Over the last three decades we’ve seen the role of God removed from the family unit, the Holy Word of God rewritten and the office of the minister of God perverted. At the same time we’ve seen the morality rate of our nation strongly decline. The divorce rate in America has risen along with the number of unwed pregnancies, extramarital affairs along with crimes that are sexual in nature. Yet no one wants to give any credence to the thought the decline of our nation is related directly to the decline of our religion. Paul warned of this in his second letter to Timothy.

Do you see that? The issue here isn’t same sex marriage. It is much deeper than that. The issue we’re facing is the ignorant ideology that you don’t have the right to speak your convictions and that the majority of the people stand against those who hold to a biblical concept of morality.

According to FoxNews.com, Scott Ihrig, a gay man, who attended the pageant with his partner was quoted, "I think it's ridiculous that she got first runner-up. That is not the value of 95 percent of the people in this audience. Look around this audience and tell me how many gay men there are."

Go back and look at that video. Listen to the applause when Prejean shares her opinion. Does that really sound like just 5% of the audience to you? If what Ihrig said was true then that was an extremely quiet 95%. I didn’t hear booing or opposition but rather support. In fact, the state of California collectively support’s Prejean’s stance and they proved that at the election polls in November.

Carrie Prejean is a hero in my opinion for saying what she truly felt and not what those with itching ears wanted to hear. Thank you, Carrie for not conforming yourself to the pattern that the world tells you that you must conform to but rather standing strong in a difficult situation and holding fast to your convictions.

IRS: Reason Enough for a Tea Party

USA. Today, 4/17/09, reports on the 6th page and bottom story, that the IRS has allowed 7 BILLION dollars to be received by ILLEGAL IMMAGRANTS! Seriously, this should be on the front page of the paper! What's on the front page instead? Top two stories are sports- in particular the retirement of Madden. Granted there is a tax story as the sidebar, but it is more about state fights and how the stimulus is being used (though it does tout Georgia as cutting business and capital gains to stimulate the economy).

Back to the child tax credits. Get this - ILLEGALS got up to $1000 after filing tax returns by using tax ID numbers issued by the government. Though not valid for employment these numbers allow for 'certain' tax filings...??

First, why? Since Treasury Inspector General, Mr. George, won't shoot straight and simply acts as those it matters not...well go to the next question. How do you plan to stop this? I am flabbergasted! We have a tax cheat running the IRS. We have Mr. Campaign Speaker Obama running around putting America down, bowing to foreign leaders, the DHSA calling Vets terrorist threats and even unaware the Tea Parties were going on (course, he has tried to cover
up the gaff).

Here we are in a mess. It is so clear that we need action, as the President and democrats are not going to lead with integrity. This mess is not about ideology and agendas- those must be put aside for the future of America.

Were they Terrorists in 1776?

The outrage against the Homeland Security Admin should be the highest
level of concern and activity in your life! Above your pet agendas,
political leanings or ideaology. If not, the foundation for Thought
Police has been laid and it will get worse.

Why? The DHSA and this administration have totally abused the powers
and leadership that they have. I attended a rally on OKC, which was
painfully peaceful. There were all types of Americans there. That is
all we should be described as; however, the DHSA has issued a memo to
"watch those at rallies, or those that are against the actions of this
government.". Vets and Americans are not terrorists and should be seen
as supporters of the Constitution.

However, we are labeled extremists. Well, let's just turn the
tables: what about those giving up their refrigerators because of
their carbon footprint? What about those buying Priuses? How about
those pushing for gay marriage? Maybe those accepting bailout money
should be watched?

Point is, America is about unity in differences. That is what our
Constitution protects. What has happened in the last week is an
"afront" to those that seek correction in spending, corrections in
taxing,and a general return to the 10th admendment provisions.

We should be mad as a hornet! Call your Senator and Reps! Demand
that the Obama admin haults this absurdity and stops the attacks on
free speech! We don't want or need Thought Police!

It appears that the mainstream media is really in bed with Big Government - you have to check this out - a CNN reporter who clearly drank the koolaid and stutters away in "fear" of a man holding a baby.

I was in OKC today. While there were chants to vote out politicians who don't get it or "no more taxes" or a "booo" here and there; there was nothing, absolutely nothing violating "family viewing." In fact, many families were there together. Our media guessed at 4,000 in attendance....We flanked the Capital, both wings and all the way passed the street from the Steps. I'd say we approached 7,000. But we can agree happily between the two.

Folks, we have to understand that earning $215K isn't much - and for those of you in California - YOU SHOULD SAY AMEN!

Reagan left and the tax was down to 28%! Seriously, check it out yourself - while *here* look at the top brackets in history. Much different!

Unemployment was down dramatically though the tax rate was slashed. Inflation was back in check. Tax income to the Government actually increased. WHY? Because more money was kept in the private sector. When you do this, businesses thrive, people invest incomes in business which helps business grow, businesses hire, people work, taxes are paid all around - WIN/WIN scenario for all.

To continue with extreme simplicity, Obama's desires are to hack away at your income and give it to others. Democrats hate the fact that taxing does not work. They hope to feed you and keep you happy with their pork barrels and such, but they know it doesn't work. What is sad - there are many RICH democrats, and they are keeping the little guy little. Despite what you think democrats are not their to help the little guy. Wake up and smell the coffee!

To steal from RUSH, take sports as an example: Alex Rodriquez makes a ton of moola - 270Mill contract or something! However, a "pauper that is on the KC Royals may only make 2Mill." That is not "fair." We must do something about this. Let's give the 'paupers' out there a few Mill from Alex and bring his income down to say 5Mill with everyone else. DO WHAT? Alex performs, has the talent, the record - he is worth the extra pay!

What is sad, there is probably a reader out there that agrees with the above. Let's bring it home. You have an education, a degree - you have history, investment into yourself and your career. Joe Slob does not. He cannot even spell education. However, he makes a ruckus and the Government decides he deserves the job you have more than you do. Better yet, they put him in the office next to you - took you four years to get there - plus your education! They pay him the same as you...in fact, your salary was cut to help pay his!

Now what do you think? See this is the problem with socialism. It doesn't work: no incentive, no challenge, no reward. It debases everyone, weakens the system, brings everyone down. Hmmm, seems like our public education?...Why do you think America has produced so much of the world's technology? Because we used to value challenge, betterment, excelling. Now, the technology we created is being enhanced by other countries.

WHAT CHURCH TO ATTEND?

This last week was all about Mr. Obama's pick for Easter Sunday. ....wonder who won the pot out there - I am sure there was a large bet somewhere! As if this was important news?

Last week, an American Cargo ship was taken by pirate - argh! They are "cute" in cartoon Disney form or "cool" in the Caribbean, but in real life - this is serious stuff. Fortunately, Obama finally allowed us to use force. Actually, this surprised me - after giving us up to virtually everyone in Europe and Asia last week - I am amazed he did. Personally, I think it took to long. Made us look indecisive, non-committed and even weak. If this is a foreshadowing to more serious matters: Korea, China, the attack on the dollar and so much more - hmmmmm.

But I digress. Back to the matter at hand: church. Specifically, where to go. Americans in general evidently have a desire to be church oriented. I would not say that we are as strong in the faith as the Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, but we at least like to see Grandma on Easter Sunday.

In general, most of us pick a church by our environment and upbringing. Others, may choose church because it is near their home, looked inviting, friend asked them to come, etc. Still others by intellect, spiritual teachings, liturgy, type of singing, etc. And, there are those that pick it because it "wears well." In other words, this means it is politically correct, social status enhanced, crowd pleasing, etc.

Last week, four teams were sent out by YOU the TAX PAYER to see what church Mr. Obama should attend. I wonder the criteria? Security? Probably - and rightly so. Mix of People? Color of People? Socio-economic status of Parrish? Evidently, these teams went to one Mixed, 1 Black and 2 White Churches. Wow.

Well, I found only a couple stories on the topic tonight is from the Christian Science Monitor and Associated Press they highlight that he attended "The Presidents' Church" in DC but it is not their final decision spot as yet.

How hard can this be? One should have convictions, spiritual beliefs and preferences. One should consider first how they may support and contribute to a Church as well as how the Church will aid their spiritual journey. Finally, with children to consider; how does the Children's Ministry rate. From there, one would look at how they support missions, community and each other. There should be no concern for who may be offended, is sad, happy or otherwise. One just does this.

Once again our presidential choice shows a lack of decisiveness in even the "little" decisions for One in his position. While I understand he is unable to just walk into a church and visit as many of us would do, there should be a general idea which denomination, sect or group and no question as to why. Wonder what Jeremiah Wright is guiding him to do?

Debate on Socialism & Jesus

The following excerpt is from a posting on a social network site. The gist of the posting was that Socialism is good and Jesus was a Socialist. This was my response - long, I know....but this is important:

Hmmm. What is most amazing about this conversation...is that it is going on.

Seriously. Each of our grandparents fought against socialism, communism and fascism in Europe, Russia and Japan. To speak these words during the not so distant history would be cause for treason. The Chinese and Japanese Americans were put in camps - out of fear and ignorance, but for protection of this Nation. Women went to the factory to build the planes that beat communism back. There were spies, espionage, double-agents and more. We practiced hiding under desks because we feared the Hammer and Sickle.

The Red, White and Blue flowed thick in our blood. But today, we consider Socialism? There are so many things to say; so many [people] would roll over in their graves. Reagan's very words against the epitome of fascism - The Berlin Wall - seem to ring flat today.

*Thomas*: stand your ground, you are right there, you are on track - don't concede. Your last comments show your real thoughts: entitlement mentality is wrong. America is not born of those sitting on their dairy air waiting for bread - no, we were built on those that sweat, ‘slaved’ (not Slaves), strove, sacrificed. None of these words indicate “the world owes me.” The American Spirit is about: ‘how can I improve my world with my two hands?’; ‘how do I increase my property, my family and through that change my world?’ This may not mean you will be a millionaire – it could mean you just get by on 30K a year. In either financial position, you help those in need. Further, the American Spirit lives within its means – not its “credit.”

The reason we are in the mess we are in is because government and individuals got greedy. Loans never should have been made to people who could not afford them. Credit should not be extended “just because you have $99 or a job.” Just because John Smith or Jane Jones has a new Lexus or Mini-van, doesn’t mean you have need one. If their house is bigger, doesn’t mean the government owes you one. If you don't have an iPhone, your Motorola flip will work just fine.
The American Spirit says, get out there and make something of yourself, do your best, follow your dream – not the “collective IDOL dream or rock-star mentality.” Your dream. You owe it to yourself. America gives you that opportunity as a gift. Go after it - go after it as hard as you appear to be pushing for Socialism...

Once you partake in that gift…you never want to go back. Why? Because when you follow your dream, begin to build your “happiness”, and acquire property - - YOU can GIVE to OTHERS. How? Maybe you hire them for a job in your business. Or, you feel passionate about their cause and charitably give – as Richard mentioned. When YOU EXCEL others BENEFIT. When you are happy with yourself and your achievements – on your own efforts – you radiate that happiness to others, you fuel others, challenge others, give to others.

This is the essence of what Jesus taught. Love the Lord…first. Love your neighbor – AS YOURSELF.

Have your priorities right in your heart and mind, then act on them. Next, extend from the Great Commandment and learn the lessons of Jesus: the Prodigal Son – don’t blow your money, the world owes you nothing or you’ll eat with the pigs…but, remember family, they’ll take you back. Or, consider the Parable of the Talents: three servants given a various range of cold hard cash. Two doubled the return on the investment of their Master…capitalism. One HID his cash in the ground…buried it….socialism, cautiousness. There’s the Pearl of Great Price, the Parable of the Lost Coin, the list goes on. ALL OF THESE show evidence of doing everything you do to the best of your ability & glory of God (Col 3:23). RISK – Jesus taught on and about risk. Faith is risk – salvation the reward (BTW...faith in Jesus is His main point).

Socialism is the opposite. Where there is no RISK, no incentive, no vision, no goal, no reward or challenge…there is no desire. Biblically speaking… "the people perish.” In Jesus’ words, “you depart from me, I never knew you – you’re not ‘entitled’ to heaven.”

Do we really want to go down this road leading to socialism? If we really bring Jesus into this, I don’t think His focus would be politics. However, his teachings and those of his followers support individual progress and individual responsibility both in achieving life and aiding others in their struggles. If he was socialist, I agree with partially someone above…he would have destroyed everything and started over.

Really...what isn't being said (ie., the Elephant in the Room) is that the American Spirit of pioneering, being first and winning…is dying. We, the aged and prospering, gave too much to our kids – now they think everything should be given to them. We have no self-responsibility and charitable thoughts. Let the Government handle it.

God have mercy on us all...
