Why Wasn't This On The News?

"Is it proper, ethical and legal for the White House to try to get a sitting member of Congress out of a race because they have other plans? I don't know. The White House has to answer the question." - Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele
No! No, it isn't proper, ethical or legal at all. In fact, its a felony. So now the question is, why do we have a White House offering bribes to congressional candidates to try and get them to drop out of a race and the national media doesn't cover it?
"I was offered a job. I answered that." - Joe Sestak
Of course the White House spin on this is that the Republicans are bringing this up in order to try and gain an advantage in the Pennsylvania congressional race. Last I checked, Joe Sestak was a Democrat and he's actually the one blowing the whistle.

We have a president who will allow a foreign president to stand on the front porch of the White House and bash to United States while actually nodding and smiling in agreement. That's an act of treason if you ask me! Now we also have a presidential administration that is offering bribes to candidates in order to advance their cause. How much more are we willing to take?

Health Care Reform Claims Another Senator's Career

A 41-year era is coming to an end in Washington D.C. Representative David Obey of Wisconsin, chairman of the Appropriations Committee, announced yesterday that he'll not seek re-election. Obey, 71, survived re-election bids through times of war, prosperity and turmoil from Nixon to Obama but apparently being the architect of the failed economic stimulus bill and a key leader in a party that ramrodded the health care bill down the throats of the American people is too much to overcome.

Despite having $1.4 million in his campaign fund, Obey says that its time to hang it up. This puts the Dems in a tough position as a Republican now takes over as chairman of the Appropriations Committee and with Obey trailing in the polls, and thus seeing the writing on the wall, another long term Democratic seat could be heading to the Republicans.

When Are We Going To Get It?

Ladies and gentlemen, our society is spiraling out of control. Why aren't we seeing it and why aren't we doing anything about it? If the polls are correct then the majority of Americans don't agree with what took place with health care nor do they agree with the government's stance on Immigration. However, the majority is being silenced by a very loud and vocal minority.

Last night, Los Suns defeated Los Spurs 110-102 to take a two game lead in the NBA's Western Conference semi-finals. Phoenix wanted to change the team name on their jerseys to show support for the Latinos in their community and take their stance in opposition to Arizona's new immigration law. The San Antonio Spurs wanted to join the Suns in the demonstration but fortunately weren't allowed. I find it ironic though that the Suns, who are in favor of not stopping the illegal alien problems the state of Arizona is facing, actually demanded that a person have a ticket to gain entry into the basketball game. You'd think that they'd bypass that process and just let anyone enter regardless of whether they went through the ticket purchasing process or not. For this one night they should have allowed people to sneak past the ticket taking attendants, through back doors, ally ways and windows to watch the game because they were on the floor to make a statement that they don't have a problem with that kind of behavior.

Then there was this little gem out of California yesterday. Five kids were sent home from school for wearing American flag t-shirts on a Mexican holiday. Yes, you did read that correctly. Last I checked, California was not a part of Mexico but rather the United States of America. However, on this one day of the year it appears as if the Live Oak High School administration is ashamed of the American flag. Check out this line from the linked article.

But to many Mexican-American students at Live Oak, this was a big deal. They say they were offended by the five boys and others for wearing American colors on a Mexican holiday.

"I think they should apologize cause it is a Mexican Heritage Day," Annicia Nunez, a Live Oak High student, said. "We don't deserve to be get disrespected like that. We wouldn't do that on Fourth of July."

Here's the deal my Mexican-American friend. No one would expect the 4th of July to be celebrated in Mexico and no U.S. citizen would, traveling or visiting south of the border, be offended for seeing the red, white and green flag. You know why? Because they aren't in the United States. Here's an idea. If you're that proud of your Mexican heritage that you'd be ready to fight for seeing a U.S. flag on Cinco de Mayo then go celebrate the holiday in Mexico! However, if you're going to live in the United States and enjoy our freedoms and liberties then have some respect for the flag that has waved all over the world to protect what you have.

Of course now I'm a racist for taking a stance for my country. Just like I'm a racist for speaking out against the policies of our current president. Forget the fact that I'm actually taking a stance for the principles that this great nation was founded on and just don't think that its too far out of the question to expect people to obey the law and respect the American flag. I'm being insensitive to a minority group and am therefore labeled by the same group of liberals that'll tell you labeling is wrong.

Fact is, I'm not a racist. I don't feel like I need to show you my credentials to prove it though. The problem with our society isn't in what I'm saying. Its in how it is received. Despite the facts of the situations, I'm the bad guy for speaking out against those who are illegally draining our economy, costing tax payers money and taking jobs during a recession as well as those who desecrate the flag that my grandfathers and father fought to defend. I don't think it makes me a racist. It makes me a proud American! When are we going to get it that the rights and freedoms of American citizens should come first in the United States of America.

How About We Become Good At Stopping Terrorists Rather Than Just Lucky

There's an old saying that goes, "It's better to be lucky than good." However, when it comes to stopping terrorism plots on American soil, I say let's be good and quit relying on luck. It was luck that saved lives when the when the Christmas Bomber caught his pants on fire and it was luck that saved lives in Times Square last weekend when Faisal Shahzad set the timer wrong on his bomb. We should be thankful that these potential tragedies have failed but we should also be extremely cautious. The problem with riding a streak of luck is that at some point its going to run out.

Of course the biggest farce in all of this is in the way our government has handled it. For some reason the Obama Administration has a major problem admitting that we're involved in a war with Islamic radical extremest. While his administration is putting navy seals on trial for being too rough on an Islamic radical who murdered American businessmen in Fallujah, not calling the Ft. Hood attack what it really was, working to shut down the Guantanamo Bay detention center, changing the military lingo to make it appear as if our enemies are not of Islam faith and mirandizing terrorists to give them the same rights as the American citizens they are targeting, another attempt to kill innocent civilians came too close for comfort to being carried out fully.

Its sad to me that the Democratic Party is so self-centered and so paranoid that their immediate reaction was to cast blame on those who oppose the Obama Administration. No one from the "left" wanted to admit that there was potential this could have been a foreign act of terrorism on American soil and when it turned out that, in fact, is what is was they're painfully admitting the terrorist we've been giving liberties too are still trying to kill us. Even at that, we're being told that Shahzad was an American citizen who has a family and faced financial hardships that over burdened him and pushed him to his breaking point. What the main stream media isn't reporting is that he's only been a citizen for a year, has strong ties to Pakistan (where his family lives) and paid for everything (SUV/Supplies/Plane Ticket) in cash. Why are we not willing to admit this was an act of terror against American citizens by an Extreme Islamic Radical.

Now everyone wants to take the credit for apprehending the non-terrorists, American citizen who is misunderstood and just needs a hug. Keeping up with new protocol, he's already had his Miranda rights read to him so now he has the right to remain silent while his buddies back in Pakistan are plotting the next attack. I would be very hesitant to thank the government for stopping this attack because in every since of the matter, just like the Christmas bomber, the government failed. In his own words Obama said this attempted attack fell apart because, "ordinary citizens were vigilant." Thank the people who had enough sense to call the authorities. Thank the firemen and police officers who arrived at the scene and literally defused the situation. Don't thank the government because they didn't do anything!

The government lost track of Shahzad who was on a plane, that had already pushed back from the jet way, heading back to Pakistan by the time they caught up with him. They only found him at the airport because the airline notified him that he'd purchased a last minute ticket and paid in cash. Authorities were only able to connect the Pakistan bound terrorist to the bomb when the previous owner of the Nissan Pathfinder used as a car bomb identified Shahzad from government watch list.

So if your connecting the dots here, the people trying to take credit for foiling this bombing attempt knew that Shahzad had entered the country in February from Pakistan. They had given him a secondary screening upon re-entry and then promptly lost him. They were lucky enough to catch him after the bombing attempt but just like the Christmas Bomber (who was also on a government watch list) they did absolutely nothing to prevent the actual attack from happening and are taking all the credit when they're actually just extremely lucky.
