Which Political Party Is Out Of Touch? Words Vs. Actions

Obama says the attitude of Pete Stark and the Democrats is in tune with the everyday needs of the American people while the Republicans are clueless.

Speaking in Racine, Wisconsin President Obama said on Wednesday that the Republican party is out of touch with the daily needs of Americans. The question now is how many people are going to believe the validity of his statements because the American people could build a strong case against Obama as being a president of "lip service."

Ask the people on the Gulf Coast if they believe that President Obama and the Democratic Party are in touch with the daily needs of Americans. Ask Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal if the Democratic Party is in touch with the needs of the people from his state.

Governor Jindal said, “We’re glad the Vice President visited Louisiana today. Just as when the President comes into town, we see the pace of federal activity increase. The overarching message that I told the Vice President today is that the federal government needs to increase their sense of urgency. They need to treat this spill like a war and get in it to win it. We’re here to defend our way of life.

“We’re asking the federal government to cut through the red tape and bureaucracy. It’s time for them to lead or get out of the way. The federal government should stop interfering in our work to stop the oil. Over and over again, the federal government has stopped and stalled our efforts to fight this oil off the coast.

“First, it was the sand-berms where it took the federal government weeks to approve the project and then after construction started, the federal government shut it down and left our coast vulnerable to the oil. The latest example is the rocks and barges plan off of Grand Isle. Jefferson Parish and Plaquemines Parish together with the towns of Grand Isle and Lafitte have been pushing for weeks to get approval for their plans to place boom, rocks, and barges in five of the western Barataria Bay passes. Their plan calls for narrowing the passes by up to 70 percent with rocks, rigid pipe boom or other measures, then placing barges with vacuum trucks and sorbent operations in the remaining gaps. We can fight this oil before it gets into our interior marshes with these plans – but they are still awaiting federal approval.

Ask Arizona Governor Jan Brewer if the Obama Administration and the Democratic Party are in touch with the needs of the people from her state?

"This is an outrage," Brewer says in the ad. "Washington says our border is as safe as it has ever been. Does this look safe to you?"

Brewer continues, "We will not surrender any part of Arizona. We need to stand up and demand action."

The governor says that "Washington is broken" and asks Mr. Obama to "do your job."

Ask the 55% of voting Americans who didn't want to see the health bill passed but had it rammed down their throats any if the Obama Administration and Democratic Party is in touch with their needs?
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, conducted on the first two nights after the president signed the bill, shows that 55% favor repealing the legislation. Forty-two percent (42%) oppose repeal. Those figures include 46% who Strongly Favor repeal and 35% who Strongly Oppose it.
In all of these cases you'll find the Republican Party trying to fight for the needs of the American people and the Democratic Party fighting for their agenda above all else. That's why in Louisiana you've got people out of work because of the oil spill and people out of work because of the government imposed drilling moratorium. That's why in Arizona the government is surrendering land to Mexico while telling you that the borders are secure. In the meantime we've got people like Rep. Pete Stark, Dem-California (video above) making a mockery of American citizens who voice legitimate concerns.

There are always going to be lessons to be learned in politics. However, the one lesson that President Obama and the Democratic Party still isn't getting is that actions will always speak louder than words. Obama was elected as President of the United States based off lip service. He'll witness the demise of the Democratic Congress this fall because all his leadership has provided in almost two years is the same lip service. We're watching what you're doing more than what you're saying and we don't like what we see.

President Obama's Response To Arizona's Immigration Problems

If this were a Saturday Night Live skit it would be funny but the fact that its real life is down right scary. While heavily criticizing Arizona's new immigration law (that only reinforces the federal law) and working on legislation to block it, President Obama met with Governor Jan Brewer (for approximately 30 minutes) to discuss the issue. Sticking to her guns and not buying into Obama's pitch to ditch the state law and, "be his partner" in a comprehensive overhaul of the nation's immigration system, Brewer asked for the president's support in securing the border. She was promised a response from the Obama Administration within a month.
"I said we need to have the fence completed, have more troops on the border and more resources" - Arizona Governor Jan Brewer
So how did our nation's president respond? You guessed it, without a spine. Instead of offering more support or trying to actually stop illegals from crossing the border the U.S. government actually posted signs warning Americans not to travel within 80 miles of the border.

How could that be the right response in anyone's opinion. Signs? Are you kidding me? What about the people, U.S. citizens mind you, that live within 80 miles of the border? It appears that our president just gave them away to Mexico by moving the border 80 miles to the north.

Ergun Caner No Longer Dean Of Theology At Liberty

This really saddens me because I have enjoyed listening to Ergun Caner for several years now. However, it shows the need for ministers (and all Christians for that matter) to be transparent in their testimonies. The Gospel message of Jesus Christ doesn't need embellishing. It is powerful enough to stand on its own and any changed life is a testament to the power of God. Caner knows this and no doubt regrets his mistakes.

Caner's tarnished reputation will hurt his ability to effectively communicate the Gospel for a while but remember, the Gospel is about forgiveness and changed lives. Even greater is the impact Caner's loss as the Dean of Theology will have at Liberty University.

Obama/McChrystal Saga Shows Differences In Priorities

President Obama fired on general and demoted another on Wednesday. After a Rolling Stone interview, in which Obama was criticized for not being prepared and intimidated in a strategy meeting, the president made the decision to relieve General McChrystal of command. In doing so he also demoted General David Petraeus from being McChrystal's boss to doing McChrystal's job.

For the record, I understand why General McChrystal said what he did but I also understand why he can't say it. Whether we like it or not President Obama is our Commander and Chief and regardless of how unprepared, unqualified and unprofessional he is when it comes to addressing the war, or anything else for that matter, any person who serves in the military under his command should refrain from speaking in such a manner. Unfortunately, I also agree that this is a decision that had to be made.

Now, what I disagree on is Obama's statement that this wasn't personal and was what is best for our national defense. Please, Mr. Obama, don't continue to believe that we the American people are stupid. This was totally personal because McChrystal exposed you for who you really are. Obama is a president who could care less about the war effort. In fact, that what led to the frustration behind McChrystal's comments. Obama balked on getting him support and very rarely gave him face time or any time for that matter. Its hard to win a war without the support of your president.

That brings me to my final, and initial, point. The difference between these two men is just a matter of priority. General McChrystal was trying to win a war but unfortunately for him he had to work for a president who was trying harder to form a public image of himself.

Judge Overrules Obama's Offshore Drilling Moratorium

It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out as the Obama Administration in now in a full fledged fight. For the first time since taking office a state has taken on Obama in the courts and appears to have an advantage, for now.
"An invalid agency decision to suspend drilling of wells in depths of over 500 feet simply cannot justify the immeasurable effect on the plaintiffs, the local economy, the Gulf region, and the critical present-day aspect of the availability of domestic energy in this country," Feldman wrote.
What will be crucial in this is how much the government tries to ignore the rights of the citizens of Louisiana and if the Constitution of the United States is upheld when it comes into play.

Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal

WHY WE NEED THE NEW SYSTEM!!!

I've never heard it put quite this way, but it sure makes sense.

JOE LEGAL vs. JOSE ILLEGAL

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal ". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention...

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00
per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or
$31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $9,631.00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Do you get it, now?

If you vote for or support any politician
that supports illegal aliens....

You are part of the problem!

It's WAY PAST time to take a stand for
America and Americans!

How Bad Is It Getting For Dems - Check This Out!

Alvin Green did no campaigning, had no campaign staff, raised no money but still managed to win South Carolina's Democratic Senate primary over a career politician. Oh yeah, he lives with his parents and is facing felony charges.

Greene, a 32-year-old unemployed military veteran who lives with his parents, defeated Vic Rawl on Tuesday for the Democratic Senate nomination despite having run essentially no public campaign — no events, no signs, no debates, no website, no fundraising.

There Are Bad Ideas And Then There Is This

There's no telling what the folks at British Airways were thinking about when then they decided on using an Osama Bin Laden boarding pass as an advertisement. At some point though you have to look beyond ignorance as an excuse and go directly towards stupidity.
