The Red Envelopes!!!!!!!!!!

What Is It:

Get red envelopes or postcards and mail them on March 31st to the WhiteHouse Address Below.

When Is It:

March 31st, 2009

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to

President Barack Obama

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message.

This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part ofour world. The envelopes should be mailed out March 31st, 2009.

Put it in the mail, and send it! Copy this post and forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [in the U.S.] before having a chance to live.

It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it's shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard. Together we can change the heart of The President and save the lives of millions of children.

Barack Obama spoke at a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event, uttering thenow infamous line, "Well, the first thing I'd do as president is, is signthe Freedom of Choice Act. [Applause.] That's the first thing that I'd do."

An empty red envelope will send a message to President Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue [The Freedom ofChoice Act, which will essentially "undo" every law currently in place to limit abortion in the U.S. (i.e., parental consent laws, parental notification, waiting periods, prohibition of transporting a minor girlacross state lines to obtain an abortion, etc.)].

It will be quiet, but clear.

First of all read your Bible again: By definition Adam, the first man, became human when G-d blew the breath of life into him- fetuses can not breathe and therefore do not have the same status as a human being. Secondly, when you "guys" can find yourselves in an unplanned pregnancy, possibly unable to feed yourself & your children on a minimum wage income (which the Bush Administration saw fit to tax at a higher rate than millionaires' incomes)then I'll be ready to give your arguments a little weight. Finally since the Supreme Court Decision, Roe vs Wade, 1973, abortion islegal in the USA, despite the subterfuges of the "Right to Lifers".

Well, I went and read my bible and I saw Genesis 1:26-28 where God created man. I didn’t find a definition of human there so I went to Genesis 2:7 which is the passage that you referred to.

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Still nothing that defines human though, unless being alive makes you human. However, that would mean that upon dying a person’s body would no longer be human and I don’t think that is very accurate. Human is defined as, “a bipedal primate mammal distinguished especially by notable development of the brain with a resultant capacity for articulate speech and abstract reasoning.” Still not defined by breathing so I’m struggling to find where you came up with that definition. I think what you’re doing is misunderstanding the phrase, “became a living being.”

At the point God breathed the breath of life into Adam’s nostrils not only did he start breathing but his brain became active, his heart started beating and his other body organs became active as well. All of these attributes are found in the fetal stage as well, along with breathing. A fetus receives its oxygen through the mother’s placenta.

Here are a few other facts about a fetus that you might be interested in. When the fetal stage starts, a human fetus is typically about 30 mm (1.2 inches) in length, and the heart is contracting rhythmically.

At the beginning of the fetal stage, the fetus begins to move in distinct motor patterns: bending of the head, general movement and startles, localized movement of the arms and legs, episodes of hiccups, breathing-like movement, and stretches and yawns.
Additionally, at this point in pregnancy, the fetus is able to bend fingers around an object; in response to a touch on the foot, the fetus will bend the legs or curl the toes to move away from the object.

Brain stem activity has been detected as early as the 10th week (i.e. 54 days after conception).

Abortion isn’t a political issue it is a moral one. Along with sexual activity comes moral responsibility. Just because I am a, “Guy” doesn’t mean that I don’t have a moral compass or know the pressure of an unplanned pregnancy. When my wife and I were pregnant with our first child we were both in college and barely paying rent as it was. Needless to say we made some huge adjustments.

The Bible says that it is God who makes babies in the womb (Job 31:15), that He is our God while in the womb (Psalm 22:10), that He is with us in the womb (Psalm 139:13) and that God knew us even before He formed us in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5).
